Program Notes
"A Life had at Sea" is a sea shanty meant to mimic the rocking of a ship. For both the composer and the performer, pirates and the adventures that ensue when looking for treasure were the first thing that came to mind when listening to the piece. But alas, it is not an adventure without obstacles, the ocean is unforgiving and throws the ship every which way including off course. But nothing beats the spirit of a sailor who has their heart set on gold.

Jehsica Castle (b-flat clarinet) & Joseph Candelaria (piano)
